We went out with the on-board cooler full of beer, soda, and sandwich fixins, and when it was time to make sandwiches, the cheese was not in the cooler.

The wife swore it was there when we left.

The water was rough, and just got rougher as the day went on and the wind picked up, and apparently, the sandwich sliced swiss cheese in a ZipLock package ended up hopping out of the cooler, and is now on the far left side of the hull, under the floor, way over beside the hole in the floor where I keep my anchor and skis. I can see it, and tried to fish it out with a fishhook on the end of a pole, but it won't puncture and pull out. Then I tried to flush it out with a garden hose, but it still wouldn't move. (I did find that 1/4" ratchet I lost last summer...:hat:)

Is there anyway to get the cheese out?

What about using a household vacuum? You know turn it on, stick the hose down there and snake it towards the bag of cheese.
The other thing that works for me is a metal coat hanger straightened out with duct tape wrapped around the end. You wrap it sticky side down once or twice and the twist it so the sticky side is out.
Let us know how you make out.

here is my suggested step by step guide

1 go to hardware store and buy the humane type of mouse trap
2 go to pet shop
3 buy mouse (the more mal-nourised looking the better )
4 insert mouse into hull (best keep boat out of garage and door closed !)
5 24 -48 hrs later insert baited humane trap
6 take mouse back to store and demand refund (make up some plausable excuse /reason)

Hmmm...the mousetrap idea just might work...:reddevil:

The space is really narrow. I tried to use my barbeque tongs but they were even too thick even when closed.

Can I get to this space from the engine bay back by the battery? It is really close to that area, and I wonder if I can get at it from there?

with boat on trailer lift tounge as high up as possible
open drain plugs
and use fresh water hose in through the cooler compartment or even pull out the drink cup holders and feed hose in thru there
water pressure should flush the cheese pack into the engine compartment

I still think the mouse method would be more fun !!!!!!!:reddevil::reddevil:

This post is hilarious!! I can't help you out, but I needed this laugh. I can soooooo relate to your luck!:stupid:

I gave up on trying to get it out. I figure, like everything else I have ever lost, it will eventually bounce it's way back for easy removal.

After nearly 6 weeks, I finally got it out:hurray::hurray::hurray:

The cupholder was the way to go. I could barely see it but I could touch it with a fishing pole. Put a hook on the end and bent the hook so the point was offset, and carefully poked a hole in the zip-lock portion of the bag (didn't want to puncture the bag and have to smell the damage :ack:).

Was able to fish it up to the cup hole and grab it by hand.

thanks for the cupholder suggestion, Seadoo-owner!

If it would have looked nasty, I would have posted a pic, but since we never opened the package, it was in surprisingly good shape. Regardless, I did NOT open the package for further inspection.

A bit of the liquid had seeped out of the cheese and into the bottom of the package, but it was still white and pliable (swiss sandwich sliced cheese).
