Kiddo was sitting on the bow and I didn't notice but had threw the deck line into the water... luckily enough it was only 15 foot long, so from the front mooring cleats it didn't reach the impeller but being a new Seadoo jetboat owner I didnt' recognize it was sucked in until the engine stalled and I couldn't restart the engine on a number of tries.

managed to get a tow back (luckily my whistle carried far enough to attrack the only other boat on the lake) and boy its impacted.

Cut most of the rope but its impacted into the driveshaft side towards the hull, and to the point where I'm hoping there is no damages to the Hull itself or the wear ring.

I'm trying to figure an easy way to remove it, but because I had tried to crank it over and attributed it not turning over to the battery, I think I really tucked the rope in...

I'm trying to work around the grate but will likely have to remove it and resilicone it back in...

Maybe have to remove the driveshaft? Will removing the spark plugs help in any way?

Yes removing the spark plugs will allow the driveshaft and impeller to spin more freely.
I have never sucked a rope, so I will not be much help!
It seems to me that you will need to remove the pump and driveshaft to fully survey the damage.

Worst case just pull the jet pump and take it from there trying to clean it out and checking the impeller for damage and wear ring clearance.

Whatever it happens to be, change the oil while it's out on the bench, probably filled with water/grease mix.

Been there, done that.
From my experience: Don't remove the intake grate. Instead, remove the external portion of the pump - 4 big bolts+ the steering and deflector controls. This will expose the impeller enough for your to cut the rope out. A one hour job.

+1 on pulling the pump, depending on if you have a carbon seal or not you would need to disconnect the "top hat" first. Easy job:cheers:

thanks for the replies everyone and will try to get in through the pump...

Rope didn't touch the impeller thank god, but is stuck where the thru hull fitting fits...

I'm hoping (but it looks like) there may be damages to the hull there, as I'm seeing some fibreglass shards there :(

Sorry to mutiny your thread with this OT question r3cc0s , but I haven't realized that the intake grate also have to be resilicone when removed thought it was just the rideplate [emoji15] . Took it loose as early as today (....3rd time in 3seasons) and just bolted it back in....no silicone [emoji33] . I always have had a little anoying leak..... [emoji51]
I don't have the complete workshop manual, just the engine and pump. Saw after reading this thread that in the partscatalouge it shows a little drop with silicone just between the grate and hull

Anyway. Hope your hull didn't got to damaged

The shop had to take out the plugs, the grate, the pump and the driveshaft... which allowed them to pull it out.

Driveshaft was "okay" and they did the hull sleave again while they were at it, and pumped it back up with grease.

took it out for a rip today and it was good :) vibration free.

talk about a lesson learned hey?

I saw somewhere one guy pulled all his dock lines to the impeller intake and cut them just short so they couldn't get sucked in. I thought it was a good idea but it might leave you with pretty short rear ropes:cheers:
