Help getting bearings out of jet pump

95 xp jet pump rebuild. I'm having problems getting the two sets of bearings out of the pump. I put a long flat head in there and tried tapping them from the inside out. No luck, any ideas?

That will work. It will wreck the bearing itself. Just be careful not to scar up the pump housing itself.

Got em! Now trying to get the new oil seal in. Lol

Make sure to grease it. I just use a socket with the same O.D., and tap it in.

Thanks mike! Got it done. Way easier than i thought. Used a big socket, extension and hammer to punch everything back in. Now is it ok to put it in the freezer with just the bearings and oil seal in it before putting the impeller, shaft and cone back on? I'm changing the wear ring on it too.

You mean grease the rubber part of the seal before putting all back together, right? Just pack grease into the backside of the seal? I didnt even think of that. I thought the oil took care of that. I wont be able to pack grease in the backside of it....the bearing is in the way now. Crap!

Glad i decided to go ahead and rebuild it while i had it off.
