Does the adaptor/spacer help with installing speakers...My speaker holes are not wide enough for current speakers holes...I need to get my speakers replaced before this weekend...Oh yeah, I dont have the adaptor...
Just cut new ones. I had to make new holes over the existing ones. Slide a piece of 2x4 in the hole. Find the center of the hole and mark it. Now use a hole saw of desired size and use that center mark as a place to put the bit and you are good to go.
The speaker and the speaker hole are in good shape...My problem is the exsisting screw holes not lining up with speaker...They are too "high"..If I drill new screw holes they will be on the lip of the speaker hole...
hmmm... i dont get it. Are you adding new speakers to existing holes? And the screw holes dont line up? If the speakers are the same size or bigger, i dont see a problem. drill new holes. the speakers should cover the old holes. Any chance you can take a pic of what you are talkin about, then maybe i can help you.
I think you should be ok. I have Polk Audio MM651 speakers installed, and if you drill new ones they will be close, but should work out. At least mine did. I agree with Foster, take a picture and we can help better:cheers::cheers:
If the holes are too close to the edge, you can run down to the the auto parts store and pick you up some auto body panel clips. The clips you need are the type that slide over the edge and are threaded or for sheet metal screws. There are all kids of different ones. just have to ask and they will show you what will work.
