Hello, New here to the forum and to seadoo's. I have two matching 1992 seadoo sp's that I got from a friend. The ski's had been sitting for 7 years prior to me acquiring them. They have been well maintained (dealer) and have very low hours on them again. After I got them I put new batteries in them and after a few cranks they fired right up. I then took them out and they ran perfect. Very clean and crisp. They then sat for a couple of months before I went to use them. I tried to start them in the garage ( with the water hooked up to the engine) and nothing. They would crank, but not turn over. I couldn't get either one to start. I put new plugs In them, then tried some starter fluid and still would crank but not fire at all, nothing. Now what? They are getting spark and I even poured a small amount of gas in the carb and nothing. Please help! What next? I am going on a trip to lake powell and would love to bring these seadoo's Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Gas goes bad in 3-4 weeks, then goes thru an irreversable chemical change.
Stabil can extend the life of good gas up to 6 months. Bill

That was my first thought and before draining 3/4 of a tank I took of the flame arrestor and poured a little gas in the carburetor and still nothing. Even if the gas was bad then adding a little fresh gas into the carb, shouldn't it fire up? At least for a couple of seconds?

Compression on one ski is 154 & 154 on the other ski it is 158 & 159 and They are both getting spark on each cylinder. What about the possibility of water in the carburetor or engine. When I was trying to start them in the garage I had the hose hooked up to the water flush system running for a very short time while the motors where not running or cranking. Could this have caused water to get into the carburetors or engine? They both ran great prior to me tryng to start them and now neither one of them will start.

Yes, the water was running about 2 minutes max while the skis where not running. That was about one week ago!

YIKES! ........Put the plug wires on the two safety ground lugs, pull the *plugs and
put a rag over holes and CRANK (do not overheat starter) til all the water blows out the *holes. Then alittle straight gas down holes & carb to start up NOT ON HOSE.
Only run 10-15 seconds, cool, restart, go ride it at least a 1/2 hour to get all the moisture out of engine, or the crank is toast! NO MOISTURE IS ALLOWED IN ENGINE>

Well that appeard to be the problem. I pulled the plugs cranked the engine several times and put a little gas in each cylinder, then they fired right up! I then went out to the local lake to run them and they both ran great. After about 1 HR of run time one of them began to have a little difficulty starting. It would turn over several times before it would fire up. After I got home I pulled the plugs and there was a little water in the cylinders. How could this happen? Is there a seal that needs to be replaced? There was about 2-3 in of water in the bottom of the hull. Thanks for all the help!
