Has a GTX Supercharger with Intercooler got a 200hr life?

This is my first post with a technical question. I am totally new to Seadoos and have read a large chunk of the manual for my GTX.

In the original manual's 'Maintenance section' it states that the Supercharger must undergo a mandatory inspection every 100hours. I understand that Seadoo have since upgraded this 'inspection' to a 'rebuild'.

However, also in that original Maintenance section, it says that if the model is also equipped with an 'inter-cooler', that this inspection is only necessary after 200hours.

Does this then mean that Supercharger/Intercooler Models can have a Supercharger rebuild after 200hours and not the 100hours reported all over the place for this operation?

Additionally, why would the supercharger on an inter-cooler model be subject to a more relaxed 'original inspection' policy. Is it not driven so hard?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Anticipate rebuilding every 100 hours...the things just fail about that often.

If you haven't put the upgraded supercharger washers in yet, consider that a priority.

How many hours do you have on thus far?

You have 100hrs on your factory SC with the ceramic washers?? You are one luck guy!!!!! Do it now!!!!

Seconded. For peace of mind, you should probably do a complete rebuild at this time anyway. You've dodged a bullet thus far, that's for sure! Look at this thread, poor Rrm1387 needs a rebuild after just 20 hours.

You have two options at this point. Rebuild with '08 spec parts, or just replace the washers and hope for the best.

As quoted from another thread:

There are two ways you can upgrade them...

1) upgrade ONLY the washers (cheaper)
2) upgrade and rebuild with '08 spec components (better but more expensive)

The links above are to PWCMuscle.com where you'll find the lowest prices on the rebuild kits. There are a bunch of additional performance parts on there for the RXP that you can browse and check out as well.

It's my opinion that for peace of mind you should do the full rebuild to '08 spec. Can you keep going with out a rebuild? Yes, technically your seadoo will keep running with dead superchargers as well.

Here is a link to the guide for replacing the washers: http://www.rivamotorsports.com/instructions/rs1751_hdw_948.pdf

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the valuable recommendations and the advice. It looks like I'll be doing the full '08 spec upgrade as it just seems the better long term peace of mind option.

Joez, I have 2003 gtx sc, so when i rebuild the sc, with the 08 specs upgradeyou said it's better. Will it increase power?
Another question Can you swap and 2008 sc into 2003 sc?

thanks
keniso

The 2003 has it's own separate rebuild kit. It was the only year of the pre-'08s that actually had steel washers.

The rebuilds will not increase power, just reliability. I'll answer your swap question in your other thread.
