My daughter was riding my 1997 GTX with 787 motor and it cut out and would not start. I was messing around with it tonight and it has spark, appears to be getting gas, and turns over fine. It will not fire even if I spray starting fluid in carbs.

Now for the scary part. I noticed that it was out of mixing oil. I took the plugs out and it seems to have good compession in both cylinders.

Any ideas? I am assuming that I have some motor damage.

taking a gander, but i'd say, with no oil in the tank, you stripped the brass gear, on the rv assy.

since theres no room, pull the motor. You can inspect to make sure, that, that is the case, by pulling carbs off, and turn pto, and watch the "rv' spin.

Looks like not so bad. It will run if I squirt gas into the carbs. Last year I replaced all of the gas lines and cleaned the carbs. At this point my plan is to rebuild the fuel pump. Is there a kit or just a diaphram (270 500 106)
