i used the jet ski the other day and noticed that there was a lot of blue exhaust .The ski ran great like always it only smoked more at low speeds. Any thoughts.

Check and see it the cable to the oil pump is broken. As a safety feature when the cable breaks the oil pump will go full open.

The rotary seal, or the crank seals could be leaking.

ok the cable . does it go from the pump to the throttle body? and is the pump on the motor under the tuned exhaust pipe

Sorry, I didn't notice that your ski is direct injection. Which motor do you have?

seadoolou txs for the info. I have the 951. well I checked and found the broken end of a cable. so I need some advice on how to replace it. How do I remove the tuned pipe etc. Anyone with the how to steps ....

To remove the pipe,.. take the two water feeding pipes off , one on the top at the cylinder head area and one at the manifold area. Unscrew the large hex bolts at the manifold, slacken the large chrome circle join at the widest part of the pipe (left of the clinder head ), then take off the mounting bolt holding it to the casing (just back from the circle join) Watch out for the large copper seal that is inside the join flange and make sure it don't drop down under the engine. Its an awkward job to refit as you cant get your hand under the exhaust to hold it in place while you try to tighten the large jointing ring,... I used a peice of thin rope underneath to pull it up while aligning it with my other hand ( and a mates too ).
Easy access to the oil pump after that.
The end nipple hasn't just popped out of its seating by any chance has it ?? It just snaps into place and can pop out if it hasn't been 'clicked ' in properly.

The piece of the cable is still there. There are three exhaust bolts and one under that looks like a chrome stud. The one under neath does that get loosened?

If the nipple is still intact and its not broken, only popped,... then don't take the exhaust pipe off. Take the small storage tray under the steering bar (between your legs) and you can reach in there with a pair of long-nosed pliers with one hand and slip your other hand down the side of the exhaust and click it back in. Its quite simple if you pull the pump wheel anti-clockwise ( its sprung loaded ) and route the wire along the small chanel where the barrel nipple will push into its bed.
Good luck,... much easier than taking that darned pipe off !

The one underneath is indeed a stud,.. probably the nut will come off and leave the stud in place. Its for helping to replace the pipe as the underside of the exhaust manifold is not a hole,.. but an open sided cut-out where you can lower and rest the manifold onto to help you align the other three .

Txs for the info, but there is a small piece of cable still there that ends so it broke. so you don't think that stud has to be loosened to pull the pipe out . Is the throttle cable one cable that splits into 2
