GTX DI 2002 maintenance

I’m a noob with jetskis and I want to know regular maintenance for a GTX DI 2002.

All I’ve been doing is using premium gas and xps 2 stroke synthetic oil. What else should I be doing, please any advice would be nice.

My ski just had its wear ring, impeller, starter and has a new rebuilt engine in it. I want to make it last for a while.

I’m just concerned at the moment with jet pump oil, I never knew about this. How often should this be changed? I’m going on vacation to a lake for 4 days and hope it lasts. Also, is a little water and tiny bit of oil normal in the bottom of engine bay normal after use?

As far as routine maintenance goes - Backflushing the ski after every ride and very importantly to fog the engine after EVERY RIDE. The 951s are known to be very susceptible to moisture. Personally I wouldn’t even ride the ski until you change the jet pump oil.

If you have time before your four day getaway- I would change the two fuel filters inside of the fuel tank. One of the two in- tank fuel filters is on the bottom of the fuel pump module and the other is on the bottom of the fuel pump itself which is inside the fuel pump module. so you will have to disassemble the module to get to it.Additionally there is an in-line fuel filter that should also be changed.

Called up the people that winterized my jetski. Didn’t realize they change the jet pump oil and fog the engine during winterizing. So I should be good there. I asked about the fuel filters and he said I should be good without changing them for my trip.

Thanks for the feedback man.

Chances are the filters have never been done so put that at the top of your list.
New properly gapped spark plugs are a good idea too.

Also if you don't ride in salt water there is no reason to flush the engines/cooling system more than once a season unless you think you sucked up some sand or debris. If you run in salt water, then flush after every ride.

Not sure where you ride but this time of year on the Tennessee River and Lakes we get a lot of weed growth. Probably not a bad idea to back flush once in a while.
I think I saw somewhere on here that Airtex is out of business or no longer makes the internal filters for the DI fuel pump. I am sure you can cross reference their numbers to another manufacturer.
FS242 & FS220
I personally keep a large stock of filters as I have 4 DI skis and don't order very often.
As Jimmyduke said it is very important to fog the cylinders on a DI ski especially if you are going to let them sit for more than a couple weeks.

For the two filters, delphi BFS0112 available at any parts store is the ticket..
Otherwise, for a DI, there really isn't any maintenance. Plugs once a year, over the winter probably wouldn't hurt to send the injectors off for a cleaning. Pull the raves at the same time, check to see if the ring is rubbing. If so, do a top end before things break (if the hours are around 160)
Do these few things, and your DI will be an incredibly solid machine ready for years of use.
