Ok. So I have 2-2003(I believe, can't find paperwork) a GTX and RX. We got these as a pair KNOWING the RX had some kind of issue. After putting in water, listening to it run and trying to ride we figured the RX had a fuel issue. So we got the pair with the GTX running.

We didn't mess with the RX right away, as it was already towards the end of summer and we just wanted to ride. Well after 2-3 days of riding, the GTX died on me in the middle of the water. I was able to get over to the marina, went home and got the trailer and towed home.

Once home the GTX was showing the same signs as the RX. Would idle fine out of water, would idle fine in water but once you put any throttle the rpms would go to about 5k and start spitting and sputtering and wouldn't even register any speed. I would say 3-4 mph. Would not get enough speed to plain out. Once we got back out of the water and the seat off, we realized they run pressurized fuel systems. Ok now to the point:

Does it sound like a nasty jammed fuel filter? If so what tool/where to buy to take the fuel filter off?? Also which site is the best to buy seadoo parts? (the closest seadoo store to us went out of business)

We also syphened all the gas and as much oil as we could get, replaced with new and no change.

Any help??? Thanks!

sorry for the delay, first step is to check your compression, you may have bigger issues than just fuel.

The RX is a 2 stroke, is the GTX a 2 stroke also? If so, you'll have a lot better luck with people resoponding in the 2 stroke section, many more people there.

Thanks for the response. I will check over there. Didn't even think about them being 2 strokes. I will check the compression.
