gtx 98 limited questions

ok so ive got a newly rebuilt 98 gtx limited 951 engine with a brand new impeller wear ring and the carbs have been fully rebuilt BUT the max revs seem to be around 6000. with the old impeller its max rpms was 7000 but was topped out at 49mph with the new impeller the max mph was 54 although wasnt getting there every time it thought its probally the high speed adjuster needs playing with. would that be right or does anyboby else have any ideas?

also whats the max revs i should be getting does anybody know ? i would of thought it would be 7500 ?

Thats weird are you going by the guage on the seadoo or do you have another tach? could you have just been in some rough water? I have 2 96xps and one will get to 7000 rpms and the other will just go to 6600 and i just have never messed with it since they both go about the same speed

im only going by the seadoo tach, the last time i went out on the old impeller it was a bit rough this time on the new impeller it was like a mill pond (flat calm) i understand i should be getting around 60 mph

ya That is a big ski to so i would say 55-60 would be good and are you going by the seadoos speedo to? if so then its not right either them things never are you might want to get a gps and go out there and see what else will happen
