When I hear Super Charger, I think about why I didn't invent replacement washers...Everyone I have ever seen or heard about has a maintenance problem. There might be some I haven't heard about...but the forum is about problems so I'm not surprised...nobody every comes here saying their seadoo runs perfect...just the problems are the highlight. :ack:

Karl

is the supercharger washers failing more of a ski thing than a boat? it is on my list to do in the future to upgrade the washers but as of right now the challenger is running tip top! (same thing as perfect, karl, now you cant say nobody ever....:))probably depends on how much the craft comes unhooked from the water eh? (like my canadian slang there joel?:reddevil:)then again im unsure how many hours i have on my boat

EH!!! thats some good stuff.... YES the boats have the same problem. You hear less about boat having the washer problem but there is alot more SC ski running around then the boats. Ive hear of the ceramic washer failing within the first 2 hr's. Pull the charger off and get it rebuild. I know a guy that rebuild these charger for a living. he charges $70 for labour +parts. you ship the charger to him so with shipping parts and labour should be no more the $425. Oh and he's the guy who designed the metal washers that riva sells aswell as a couple other performance parts found on the riva website so he's know backyard mech to say the least  Oh and he has a quick turn around will only take 2-3day TOPS toget it back.

same engine rex boat or ski think it is still an issue !
i think they give around 40 hrs(ish)
is it worth takeing a risk ive just put in engine number2 on my boat and bought a new charger with the gold washers to be safe and have a spare charger (witch im going to rebuild)for less downtime

is it impossible to do yourself? have you done them? a complete rebuild and not just washers.

price i said was for FULL rebuild.

you can do it your self, get a manual and take your time. You will also need the supercharger tools aswell and torq wrench that has a dial style of indicator. with the price of the tool and parts it will cost more then shipping it out to rebuild it and he does guarantee his work and im sure he rebuilds 15+ a day. These no room for error with these superchargers so good to have that piece of mind thats its been done right.
