GTI Starts with any key

I've recently run into a problem with my 2018 GTI that has me stumped. It began with me getting a reading key message that never goes away. The strange thing is that it will still start and run as normal. I sent it to be looked at and they couldn't determine what was causing the issue. They let me know that it will even run with any key. The key settings were still enabled in the ECM. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice?

Yes, had to replace ECU. Disconnect battery and reconnect a minute later. Then see if it will start without the key or if the reading key message goes away.

That is what is strange, the ecu is new

Where did you get the new ECU? Keys have to programmed to the ECU when new.
