Grip removed help?

I have a 2002 gti and I need to remove the grips. I can't get the bolt all the way out. How easy should this be?

Has anyone used the lock on grips?

A few members here do. THe issue is that they are shorter than the seadoo ones so you will have a gap between the grip and bar pad that you have to find a way to fill or it looks funny.

I just buy the package of OEM grips from amazon for $28.

You can use a piece of 3/4" heater hose. I think that's what Jetskigoodies used to use.
