Yeah, that free part went away pretty quickly, but as my original post on 9-07-09 said, I got some skis that had been abandoned, and it took me this long to get everything ready to go (running, titles and registrations, and a trailer hitch on my van to pull them), but I am finally there!:hurray::hurray::hurray:
What a perfect day in So Cal Inland Empire! Upper 90's temps, and not a cloud in the sky. I told my daughter as we were bombing around the lake that it's hard to believe there are some people getting snowed in right now!
The 1997 Seadoo GTX was amazing, (right up until it wasn't). It probably topped out at close to 50 MPH on it's speedo with me and my daughter on it. My wife was riding the 1992 Waverunner 650, and it topped out at around 35 MPH with just her on it.
After about an hour, the Seadoo started surging. I'm thinking fuel filter (hopefully nothing worse). If you ran it at half power it was ok, but the more power you added, the more it would start to surge. Any other thoughts on the cause?
Hitman782 said that gray fuel lines are bad. I told him mine were clear, but as I looked closer today the majority of them are gray, with only the last section going to the engine being clear. Could my problem be to the bad fuel lines coming apart?
The Waverunner ran great (well, as good as it could... it is a far cry from the GTX!) It does not like bumpy water, as it just surges itself every time the thing gets slightly out of the water. And it is no where near as stable as the GTX (two tip overs on the day!).
Just wanted to give you all an update, since I received so much help from this forum to get me on my way.
Thanks especially to Timmyboy76 for hooking me up with where to go! Sorry I missed you out there.
