so my boss gave me his old jet ski, all i know is it's a 94 and the pink slip says bombadier, i don't know how to start it what kind of motor it has i think it's a 2 seater and i don't know if it works i have a ton of questions.. starting with can i start it out of water? and if it doesn't start how do i know what's wrong with it..? and any good sources for parts and accessories would be a huge help as well

WOW, Hi & welcome to the forum.

1. GET A MANUAL and read it front to back then to front again.....:)
2. does it have the gray tempo fuel lines....if so then change them to Black auto line with an in-line filter.

3. There is a black tag on top back of the hull.....the last 2 numbers indicate the year.....any decals on the body of hull to say a "model"?
4 A compression test is needed before anyone can tell you what is wrong or right about it.

Where is Covina?

thank you soo much, well my plan is to restore it and sell it, because i need the cash, but the fuel lines look umm orangish clear i think and i don't think it said anything about the model all it says is bombardier on the back and the front says rf-7021-nk but i'll check again, either way thanks for your help i realy appreciate it

First thing I would recommend is post a picture of the jetski and the motor, someone here should be able to identify your model and engine type with no problem.

i'll post a picture of it in a bit and a picture of the engine when i get the chance

i couldn't post it onto this thread, so i put it in my profile under the... well the only album i have

yeah it is a 94 thanks soo much for giving me details on the engine i have a 4x4 so i'm pretty handy with motors and working on em, i was just soo out of my element.. could you give me an estimate on how much i could get for it?

DSCN0116a.jpgWould this be Covina, California?

Here is a typical tag off my 94 GTS, the 5814 is the model number.

Model number should pretty much tell what engine is in it, but to make sure ... on the front top of the engine is a tag identifying the engine.

I could not see your pictures. There is a size limit on what you can post here; I have found if you can get the picture file down to about 1mb or less it works.

I have been looking at a number of older seadoos as I work on the ones I have; the first thing I do is remove the shroud at the rear of the engine and grab what is called the PTO (end of crankshaft tied to impeller stuff) and see if it turns rather freely ... easier if you pull the spark plugs. If it will not turn you, as you will find in perusing this forum, have a bunch more expense/fun at hand.

yeah it's california, but first i need to get the key thing off of my boss today he's going to give it to me when i go in today, and by the time i'm out it's going to be too damn dark to do anything, and it's still infested with spiders from sitting at the lake for soo long, but i should be able to get some time on it monday, if i do end up needing parts, could any one tell me a good place to get them?, i looked on some websites but the lowest year they go is 96, well atleast the ones i've seen, THANKS
