G'day guys.
I have a 2000 model gtx with a 951 carby.

I've just sorted out the cable that goes to the oil pump the marks line up fine but at idle im smoking out the neighborhood. Am i missing something here? Carbies have been redone and compression is all ok just cant seem to get it to run at the right oil setting. Cheers

Being that this issue has been like this for a long time would it be just residual oil waiting to go through the system and out the exhaust?

Mine smoke really bad after sitting for a couple of months. I have 175 hours on the engine so my seals might be getting close to calling it quits.

Yours doesn’t have the seals that leak like the smaller engine Seadoo’s.

If your oil pump is adjusted correctly and you are running the correct API-TC full synthetic oil the only thing that can cause excessive smoking is rich carbs. It’s not just too much oil but also too much fuel that can cause smoking.

Also these are 2 strokes so they are going to smoke especially just running on the hose since they don’t get hot enough or loaded enough to burn all the oil and fuel in the crankcase.

I would only worry about it if it still smokes a lot after riding for about 15-20 minutes.
