Getting ready for season

I have a 2003 GTX SC and a 2001 GTX DI. I am going to split this into two posts because they are different engines, but I will link to the other. I had them winterized at a shop this winter because of time, but I would like to start doing it myself. I am going to get them back out in a couple of weeks. What do I need to do to get them ready?

For the 2003 GTX SC they performed the following when winterizing.

Changed oil and filter
Added fuel stabilizer
Blew the cooling system dry

I assume the pump oil was ok since they didn't change it. Should you check that in some way, or is it just every X seasons?

I will put fresh fuel in. Anything else that I should do? Spark plugs?

I am going to get the SC rebuilt at the end of this season. I am at 76 hrs and I double i'll get up to 100 this year.

Thanks!

If the shop fogged the motor, you may want to check the plugs after your first ride as they *could* be a little wet but unlikely. This is probably the time
to consider changing them.

I'd also make sure the battery is fully charged as well. You should also do a quick once-over to make sure various hoses, nuts etc are not loose...

Other than that, let 'er rip!

When was the last time the supercharger was rebuilt? If it is original (never been rebuilt) you most certainly have ceramic washers on a 2003.

If this is the case it is a ticking time bomb. I would not run the engine any more until it is completely rebuilt with upgraded parts.
