my 99 sportster twin85 engines ran great last time out about a month ago. We were going to take it out last week but the port engine would only run until the starter fluid ran out. We replaced the fuel pump but that did not help. Anyone had this problem?

You should never use starter fluid on a 2 stroke, as it has no lubrication value in it. It could seize up the engine. You might want to check for dirty carbs as to it not getting fuel.
