i am getting ready to put back togother my 787. i completly took it apart. i have new cases, balance shaft, crankshaft, pistons, all gaskets.
does anyone have any tips, trick or pointers on what to do and what not to do.

also i need to hone the cyclinders, how can i do that? are there special tools? if so am i better off paying some one to do it?

An automotive machine shop in your area could crosshatch hone them or mail them to Short Block Technologies, Clearwater, Florida sbtonline.com

a honer....
If you have piston already find a local machine shop with one or send out jugs with new pistons.....
You could of gotten jugs honed and new pistons with gaskets from full bore for 285????

yeah i already have the pistons. the old ones dont look that bad, just burnt on the top. i was told to get them honed. the new pistons are standard size so i cannot bore them

If there are no scuffs or gouges on the cyl wall you may get away with the hone??
Post up pics of jug and maybe someone with more experience can chim in.
Since they are not oversized there is no boring larger. The hone is to fix imperfections.
