General questions on operation of PWC

Hi everyone! So today I finally got to use my brand new SeaDoo Wake Pro 215. Really nice ride!

Now, have a couple of questions to the forum:

1) I read all of the operations manual that came with the PWC and I could not find anywere anything about brak in period. Today I used the learning key just in case, but wanted to know if there were any recommendations (things to do / not to do) and how long is the break in period.

2) As a newbie to this, I had my first issue. I will be using the Wake Pro mainly at lakes... so today while waiting for my friend to come over with the truck I was idling near the ramp. My friend had "issues" trying to place the trailer correctly into the ramp so it took a while. In the meantime I was idling and noticed there were a lot of weeds in the water. After some time a continuous beeps started sounding so I turned the engine off. I managed to get the PWC into the trailer and get it out of the water. I realized that the annoying beep was indicating that the exhaust was overheated. I looked beneath and there were a huge bunch of weeds coming from the intake. I manager to take out some of those, but looking into the exhaust, between the propellers I noticed a lot of those things. I got home and performed the exhaust cleaning procedure explained (connecting the hose and running it for 20 secs), but the weeds are still in there. While doing this there were no alarms and the engine started fine. So, finally, my questions:
a) Is this a big issue?
b) Should I worry about the weeds that are in there now or the next time I go around they will come out?
c) If so, how should I clean that?
d) Do you think that it could have damaged something.
e) Any recommendations to avoid this (apart from turning off the engine next time)?
As you might understand, being completely new to this I'm kind of not knowing what to do.

3) What is a normal procedure to apply on the PWC after a water day?

Thanks in advance for your help and patience!

a) YES
b) YES/NO
c) Anyway possible to get that crap out...coat hanger..etc
d) YES..."wear ring"
e) Dont run in weed infested areas/water that less than a ft deep, but idealy 3ft deep

No particular procedure after a day running. You can inspect the pump assy for "this" reason, make sure nuth'n in there, like a clear bag..etc, but fir it up on trailer for a few seconds to expel the water in exhaust, other than that, if run in salt water, will want to bring hose with you, to "flush" out system...

Not sure of specific breakin procedure for that model, but I think the "general" break in is very brief full throttle, less than 5 seconds periodically, keeping rpms mostly in the lower 75% of range, and varying often. Try not to keep it at the same rpm for most of the time.

Do this for first 10 hours. Then it is all fair game.

Of course, if you have already run it for a day, it may be broken in already.

Thank you guys for your replies!!!

- To the break in period question, I have been doing that during my first day (also used the LK). So I guess all is ok then!

- To the issue I had, well, I used a hanger to clean the propeller. Seems clean to me. Also, applied the flush procedure and all seems to be ok. I'll be trying the PWC tomorrow.

Thanks once again!
