Replaced hoses and filters, rebuilt carbs, now starts and idles really well but dies when given any throttle (before, would rev up well on hose but not in water). So it's worse.

Installed inline filter and it doesn't seem to fill with fuel, just a trickle, which indicates not getting enough fuel. Bypassed fuel selector with no help. Check all connections. Crank case hose to fuel pump is good.

What else could be wrong? Something simple I did wrong in rebuilding the pump?

If the inline filter is in correctly...the correct direction for fuel to flow, than it must be in the carbs or fuel pump...

Check the screen at the bottom of the fuel baffel... It can get cloged with crap and not allow good flow.. I just cut it out of my 95, there are two other filters in the line, under the hood and in the carb.. Same exact problem you could actually see the inline filter empty when I hit the throttle.. Now it runs great!!!

I finally took the ski to a very good mechanic and they found no problems with the carbs. But they did find that something like a screw had gotten down in the carburetor into the engine and tore up the rotary valves--that's why it's not running right. They quoted me something like $1500 to $2000 to tear down the motor and repair that, so I'm getting it back and will look into it myself. Yikes.

Wow!! 1500 smack-a-ru's. That is why I suscribe to this web site. I hope I never take my skis to the dealer again.

I was out of options. They are doing the tank recall so they are getting some money from Seadoo for the deal so they're not charging me for the diagnosis. So I'll have a new tank in a dead ski--if the Seadoo thing doesn't work out, they can go work for the new government. Time to start searching rotary valve threads . . .

I'll bet that you can do the work yourself much cheaper!! There is always plenty of help on this site if you get in a bind.
Have you downloaded a shop manual yet? It will be a headache saver in the future.
