fuel gauge

Look under the "How-to" section. There is a sticky there near the top that deals with this problem.
 
Most fuel gauges are located as a float in the fuel tank. Over the years the gas eats away at the copper float and breaks the joint from one pole to the other thus no reading. Replacement part is in excess of $100 when I checked. Just have to pull the loat out of the tank - not real hard.
