Fuel baffle question...

I need a definite answer from someone who has attempted this before with results, if anyone has actually attempted it. I have a 98 GTX-L. Like most, the sending unit indication loop fuse inside of the baffle has opened the circuit, leaving me with no fuel gauge indication. I have heard from many to just jumper the fuse to get the gauge working again, but I do not like the idea of an unfused electrical circuit inside of my gas tank, at the top in gasoline vapor to boot. I do have another working baffle out of a 96 GTX, but that boat had an 800, which means that the nipples on top of the baffle are sized for 1/4" fuel lines, where the baffle for the 951 boat has outlet nipples that match the 5/16" lines. Would there be any risk of choking the suction side fuel pump by installing this baffle with the smaller outlet nipples?

It has been done many many years to delete that fuse, re-close & forgit it! Done!
All $ saved in lew of new!

I understand...

Deleting that fuse is definitely an easy fix to get the gauge working again, but do you not think that there may still be a risk of a burnt trace on that board in the baffle, which would (could) cause an explosion?

No, if there is a over load on the board it would blow the fuse in line in the harness or mpem. There shouldn't be any chance of an explosion.
