Have a rookie question. If I convert to a finger throttle, is there any need to a carb adjustment? Or does anything need to be adjusted other then the cable?

You'll have to get it positioned and slack adjusted. Make sure you get full throttle as check the oil pump alignment marks to make sure the pull it's still flowing correctly.

Oil pump alignment marks? Are you referring to the metal sleeve on the end of the cable that gets tightened down by a set screw? That cable just needs to be tight when there’s no throttle being given correct?

No, on oil injection pump has alignment marks. When you adjust the idle or do anything with the throttle cable you should check the alignment marks. Not sure what ski your putting this on.

Nope. Your oil pump is controlled by the throttle. It has two marks that need to be aligned. Sorry tapatalk is updating slow.

It’s going on a 587 SP. Where are the alignment marks located? Prob need to fix that either way since I rebuilt the carbs over the summer

On the intake manifold under the carbs. Just follow the oil lines.

So I found the line you were referring for when the throttle is closed. It’s dead inline with the marking on the carb housing. I’m not seeing a second line for WOT. Is there one?

No, it is just set at idle.

He was saying to make sure you get wide open throttle with the finger lever. Some of them won't open the throttle plates all the way.
