Hey everyone! I just bought the jetski mentioned in the heading with 118 hours. I took a look under the bucket compartment by the battery, and there was a crack exposing styrofoam through the fibre glass in the front. I suspect this damage was from the anchor in the front compartment banging up and down.

I was going to fix it for this season by applying seal-all sealant, then some flex seal tape for a short-mid term solution. Before I winterize I will be reapplying fiber glass to the crack.

Would this be a good solution, or is this issue indicative of deeper issues?

Also, is this a common problem in the 2007-2008 seadoo GTI 130/155?

All help or insight is much appreciated!687CDE70-ABEF-458F-93DE-24FF73D2FD03.jpeg

You can purchase small complete fiberglass repair kits from auto parts or autobody supply stores and patch it correctly. Use a flap wheel to clean it off before you apply , this way it won't crack anymore.

Yeah, reapplying fiber glass to the inside is definitely the plan.

I just am unsure if flex glue (to seal it) + flex tape (to ensure that if it continues to crack, it will be under the tape) will be enough. Do you think this will suffice for the next 3 months?

Thanks again!

If you have a crack in the hull you should stop it now , applying other sealants will make fiberglass repair less likely to succeed in the future as you may not be able to clean it off properly after sealants are applied and the fiberglass does not stick to those products. Cracks tend to continue on with use , but it's your decision.

Fiberglass repair is not hard, just buy a quart of resin, which will come with harder and buy chop strand mat. Chop strand is easier to work than woven mat. Sand the area aggressively at least 3 inch's around the area on both sides. clean with acetone. Where gloves and a respirator or at least do it outside. Wet the area with resin apply the chop strand in 3 layers. Start small, go an inch bigger each time. Wet the chop strand well each time with fiberglass resin with hardener mixed in exactly as indicated on resin can. The whole process takes like 30 minutes. Resin dries very quickly. I fixed the issues in the pictures in just a couple hours work plus paint.
