Hey There

Ok I have a 1993 Sea Doo XP, I had a mechanic (supposed mechanic) work on my boat and in the process of the heads being off broke a corner off the piston. I called a shop to get a price for a new piston and was informed that I could run the boat with this piston and would just get a little more vibration.

Well I trusted his advice and put the engine back together, fired her up and she ran for a few seconds great and then suddenly shut off and seemed to seize up.

We opened the engine and it turned out the piston broke even more, caused holes in the cylinder head and was just a mess.

So now I obviously have to replace the cylinder heads and pistons to repair my engine, my question is as follows:

1) I am thinking this is prime opportunity to change the head and give my boat a little more power - what size head would fit on my 1993 Sea Doo XP engine

2) Any advice where to look at buying a used cylinder to save some money

3) Lastly, could a piston that has a corner broken off have cause this mayhem in the cylinder head and therefore taught me a costly lesson?

Cheers
Ryan
