So my 95 HX has a multi gauge and a factory tach. I'm converting this ski to a 787. I can handle wiring the multi gauge but can I wire the tach to the 96 XP grey box? I know it won't be as accurate as the tiny tach I have but I just want it to work? I have not studied the 787 box for a tach wire maybe someone can save me some time and if possible walk me through it.

Please take pictures of the wiring, I would love to add the multiguage to my HX.

The multi gauge came stock on my HX. When I bought if from Nick Minnetonka4me he said it was rare for an 95 HX to have gauges.

They arent....well kind of. anything is doable but its not plug and play. There is a very simple way to get tach function out of any MPEM....they made an inline resistor you plug into a stator wire and it gives you a direct tach wire made to work with the OEM tachs.

And yes...they made gauge kits for the HX. Optional accessories. Ive seen a few with them, but the majority didnt.

Correct, no gauge from the factory on the 95-96 HX but 97 had a fuel gauge. All others were dealer installed accessories.

Nick, Thanks for the info.

The 96XP MPEM ending in 510 has no grey tach wire. You can get an MPEM from a 96GSX or GTX ending in 897 and it's the same as the 510 other then having the grey wire.
