I have a 2005 challenger, I am trying to remove the top and bottom hoses from the intercooler to drain and then pour antifreeze into the intercooler and exahaust manifold for winterizing. Both of the hoses have factory pinched hose clamps is it ok to cut them off and put the regular screw type.I am asking this, because I am asking myself if I am looking at the correct hoses. It is an 2005 and I guess no previous owner did this,or they all stored it indoors?? thanks!!:ack:

I have posted a pic in my Albums. I couldn't figure out how else to post it. Does anyone know if I am looking at the correct water inlet and outlet to the intercooler ,that I need to drain ,then put antifreeze into?? (#1 on the pic and the hose above) . Thanks!!

This procedure is for the SUPER CHARGED models up to 2008.

The engine should have been run before you do this procedure so most of the water is out of the exhaust system. Use 100% concentration of Anti-Freeze in the exhaust and inter cooler. It is recommended that you use biodegradable anti-freeze that is ment for aluminum engines.

The exhaust system is self draining, but the inter cooler and manifold need the following protection.
1) Remove both inter cooler hoses.
2) Let the inter cooler drain.
3) Pour appx.6.76 oz or 200ml. of anti freeze into the exhaust manifold
4)Reconnect the upper hose.

You can just cut off the factory clamps and install stainless hose clamps after your done. Use side cutters to cut the clamps, be careful not to cut the hose. Your picture shows the correct hoses.
I hope this helps.
