Extra storage on 180

Has anyone here cut into the drivers side console to add more storage?

I really would like more and am strongly considering it. Any pictures or advice from previous projects would be appreciated.

If you need more storage, it may be time for a bigger boat. Many a person asks about more storage and that's always a viable way to get more without having to carve holes in your boat to do so.

We had a similar issue in the past and after finding some ways to accommodate, the best solution was to upgrade. We'll be jumping up to a 27 footer in a couple of years for the same reason.

The 19ft scarab has one on the passenger side. You probably could put the door there

The only thing I'd be worried about is what's under the helm? Is there flooring or will you wind up creating a hole that leads down into the space below the floor. Another concern would be resale value depending on how well the modification comes out.
