I decided to repaint the hood and mirrors of my 1996 GTX with the original color and went to a local auto body supply store to get a quart of basecoat urethane mixed. The color is called Metallic Forest Green, PPG#48023. I was shocked to hear a quart is $173! Apparently the paint has some special blue pearl additive that is wildly expensive. Guess I'll just deal with my chips and scratches. Anyone ever gone down this road?

Hi and welcome.

Go to colorRite.com 800-358-1882 east coast and 800-736-7980 for the West coast.

They have paint for many skis. I used them for a Yamaha.

A quart seems like an awful lot of paint for a hood. I painted my 95 gtx hood and bought a pint along with the reducer and other supplies. I still had paint left over.
