exhaust resonator delete

I have a 98 speedster twin 787's. The starboard engine ran hot and melted the resonators, they are discontinued. I can find used ones, very expensive. Thoughts on deleting them? OK? bad idea? Thanks.

They were just to reduce sound. They can be deleted.
