ok, so i went to winterize the seadoo today because it is nice out (50) but as i went to start her up it sounds like the battery is dead. i know its not because i just changed it. it seems to me that the motor is locked. i took the spark plugs out and she still wont start. tried the pto with a pipe wrench and wont move at all. i read that it could be frozen? thanks for any help

ugh...that sux

Not being able to turn it over by hand is definitely a good indication that it is locked up. You can spray lube/pb blaster/etc. in the cylinders to try and break it free. Hopefully it is just your top end that is frozen. You should be able to break it free if it is. You may want to just take your head off to take a look. Even if you do break it free, you have issues to deal with.

Looks like you may have more work than you bargained for this winter :(

Darn that really sux. Was it running fine last time you put it away and how long was that?

Yep... that sux.

Sounds like you parked it wet, and it rusted up on you. Unless you fond something stuck in the flywheel... that engine may be done.

BUT... don't give up hope yet. There has been more than one time where I've seen the bearings in the pump seize after it sits.

If I were you.. I would pop the pump off, and see if the engine turns over.

got her to turn over right after i posted this thread(what are the odds) all it needed was a fresh battery, some wd 40 and a pipe wrench. i did get to winterize it. thanks to all

Since I'm new to jetskisHow would you turn the engine or check the pump if the engine won't crank over?

Please start your own thread.

BUT… if it seems locked up, remove the pump, and then se if you can turn the engine.
