engine locked

I posted in wrong place sorry. A friend purchesed 2 96 spx's that had been setting. One started and ran fine the other was locked up. Pulled engine and bottom end was full of oil. I pulled carbs tilted engine and rotated backward and this drained oil. It spun over fine I reinstalled engine it cranked and ran fine. It set in shop for a couple of days I hit starter this morning it spun and fired. Later in day I finished putting everything else on ski. I hit starter and locked up again. Same thing lower end full of oil. Any help as to why and what is the fix. thanks

bad bad crank or rotary valve seals
on seadoo engines the two stroke oil that lubes the pistons also lubes the center of the crank which drives a gear and shaft that turns the rotary valve.
hence the two extra lines going to the center of your engine.
there are two crank seals in the middle of crank to keep this oil in place
and one seal on the rotary valve shaft to keep oil in place.
if the crank seal are bad, then a rebuild is needed or a new or rebuilt crank
if the rotary valve shaft seal is bad, kinda a easy fix
got to pull the intake manifold off, remove clip that keeps the shaft in place,
rig a little slide hammer up, the end of this rotary shaft is threaded to accept a bolt for this procedure, gently hammer out shaft with your minie slide hammer and there ya go!!!! oh i forgot, drain the oil out of your oil tank and crank case before you start, or ya get a big mess lol
reverse for installation and you will have to re-time the rotary valve, again no big deal, get a degree wheel from sbt or brp and time it as per manual.
fill your oil tank and bleed any air from oil pump and hope for the best.
should also check to make sure the oil tank vent is proper and not build any pressure, might as well just get a new check valve, and remember not to fill oil tank all the way up or the excess oil can impede the vent system.
