Hey Guys,
My father in law's 2001 Speedster had an engine fire on the weekend. The voltage regulator/rectifier blew up, and burned until I doused it with a few buckets of water... and luckily there was no real damage other than a thoroughly melted regulator.
Long story short, I put a new one in and it's running again, but anyone know if this is a normal problem, this kind of catastrophic failure, or does anyone know if there's something else I should be replacing?
It's actually fixed the rough idle and engine judder... I think it's been on it's way out since last summer.
