I haven't used or started my ski in 6-8 weeks and it is totally dead. There are no beeps when I attach the DESS, hitting the start button 5 times does nothing. The battery (AGM) is new. Battery connections are clean and tight. I removed the neg battery terminal (easier to get to), hooked up a smart 3 A charger to it, and it says the battery is fully charged at 12.8V. I have never had a charger on it without first disconnecting the battery, so have not blown the MPEM with a charger, and this was the first time since new that I hooked up a charger to this battery or to this ski. When I put the new battery into it a few months ago, after it sat for about 2 years, it started right up, as it did 2 weeks later. I did nothing to it since it last ran so I don't understand why it is dead now - ie, no response to the DESS key, no nothing. The inside is spotless, front compartment, engine compartment, no mice, rats, squirrels eating wires etc.
So I need advice where to start looking, where are fuses located, etc. And why would one blow from it just sitting? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Does your ski have the small black wire coming from the rear electrical box? Make sure it's connected to the negative post as well as the ground wire or you will get similar symptoms.

I never noticed that but I'll take another look at it. As far as I know, there's only the one ground (black) cable connected to the neg battery post, and I have done nothing to it since the last time it ran a month or so ago.

I have a 1996 GSX and it has one. I looked up available models for 1996 and don't see a GS. Is it a GSX?

Check your grounds and fuses. Rectifier. Pull the Mag plug out and put it back in. Make sure it is making a good connection. Get the multi meter out and the schematics.

Do you use it in salt water? Do a voltage drop test on the battery cables.
