As I wade through an electrical problem with my ski... getting there with the help of the knowledgable... I created a pdf of the wireing diagram for my ski with numbers identifying each connection. If anyone can respond and enlighten us how each connection cound be tested I think it would help many people struggling with electrical problems... or at least I think it would help.

In addition .. anyone responding.. if you have some insight as to what may make each component die.. or why it may be popping a fuse, every little bit helps!

Corresponding to my wireing diagram attached:

1- Start/Stop switch - I think A simple continuity test would test this switch

2- DESS - again, continuity test with lanyard on and lanyard off

3- Buzzer

4- Oil/Fuel indicator

5- Speedometer

6- Oil Sensor

7- Fuel Sensor

8- Speed Sensor

9- Regulator/Rectifier

10- Stator/Magneto

11- Solenoid & Ignition Coil

Obviously some of these connecitons are more important than others... and maybe a connection can not be tested without a running engine or some other system requirement. Any little test that the ski owner can try to maybe fix their ski and save a ton of $$ at the shop is so appreciated.

Thanks

how about you just tell us whats wrong w/your ski so we can help diagnose instead of explaining the entire electrical system to you.

With any electrical the problem tracing takes much longer than the acual repair, you have to verify the large components and work you way along the cables fixing what needs to be fixed from corrossion, connector that is pushed sideways from forcing, once you finish a connector body a little dab of vaseline will help keep moisture from spoiling the metal tabs. The MPEM failure from a jumper cable can happen when drama overpowers comon sense.

The ski was purchased with the problem. I was new to Seadoo skis and did not know that you can not jump start the ski... that it would blow the mpem. The seller jumped the ski right in front of me.. I was 90%+ the mpem was blown from ALL the posts I had read. I investigated... learned how people were repairing them an went ahead and tried for myself. It was the issue and I was happy with the results.

Yes.. electrical problems are a pain.
