Ok. I have a 1994 SPI 587 in a 1993 Seadoo XP hull. Basically we use to have a 94 SPI that the hull got cracked on years ago and found this XP donor hull as a replacement. It's the same hull.

Anyway the oil injection cable on the 587 snapped a few weeks ago and I realized this after it had been hard to start suddenly. Check compression, PTO side is 135, mag side is 125. They were both 145 at start of the season. So it needs a rebuild obviously. Here's my question.

Rebuild or 720 swap?

If I do the 720 swap what will I need? Obviously the engine and a new impeller. What can I reuse? Pipe? Pump? Electronics?

I have a 720 that is off a fresh rebuild I can get for $250. That's why I am considering the rebuild.

All help appreciated.

I have a single carb. So I would need new carbs too. I thought the electronics from a 587 would work on a 720
