I just wanted to thank for all the good advice I decided that I could not leave the rubber boot leaking. Dr honda txs for the tip on the circle clip. the job took about 1.5 hrs and the only problem was getting the collar to slide forward to remove the circle clip . But i still have another question. The collar and the carbon ring keep the water out. Should I see some water coming in from that area?

If the carbon seal is working right... a very small amount of water will weep past. That's how the seal stays cool.

I guess I should have given you a tip on that. A brick, and a tire spoon works perfect. The brick will take up the space between the flywheel and the stainless ring, and the tire spoon makes a perfect lever.

Good day everyone hope every one is fantastic on this Friday A little sun here in beautifull BC will make for a great weekend. Is there a chance i could find parts 1 and 2 of this leaking problem as I have water possibly leaking from the same area

I sprayed it with liquid wrench first and tapped around with a hammer, not easy pushing the carbon ring forward and trying to loosen collar.Never thought about brick.

Sorry, I thought he was concerned about the boot on the balancer since it was centered in the pic. My bad.
