Double Engine Stall

I have a 1997 Seadoo Challenger 1800. Recently I took her out and both engines stalled.

Prior to the stall, I was moving (rev'd up at about 6500 RPM's). The right was still trottling (rev'ing like it was in nuetral) but would not move the boat. The engine would not shut down so I choked it. When I tried to start it back up, it would not re-engage.

I shut down the left engine but when I went to start it back up, it would not turn over.

Recently I changed the plugs, cleaned out the carbs (sprayed the carbs without removing them), replaced the port side throttle cable and replaced the fuel filters.

A day later, with the hoses hooked up, the engines still wont start.

Any ideas?

If the engines don't turn over check your battery and connecting wires. If the battery lost connection it might have surged the mpem. Check your fuses too. The engine will rev up with the temp of the spark plugs...without any spark, kinda like a RC,(radio control) engine running with a glow plug.

job....spray'n carb cleaner "on" the carbs, is only going to make the body's of them shine/clean...did nuth'n to them, functionally. Need to pull them out, and go thru the "guts" of them.

Thx....Plugs/fuses are good and the engine is turning over. Could it be the fuel pump. Just seems strange that both engines failed.

If it is the carbs, do you know how long it takes to pull the carbs out? Is it easy? Is this something a pro should do? What should I clean them with? Are there any other things that need be checked, cleaned or swapped while the carbs are out? Raves?

Thx again!!

aint a job, that needs a "pro's" attention. Just patience on your end, and right tools, aolong with headache afterwards, from hang'n over inside compartment, o-yaeh, some bruised ribs too...

Remove the airbox, undo the cables on the plates of carb, remove the gas lines(mark them with tape), then remove 2-allen to each carb, and pop-r off. When going thru carb, remove one side at time, and then with everything, laid out on table, take carb cleaner, and blast away at ports..etc.

Thx again..... Do these engines have a fuel pump? (1 or 2?) I've read some other threads about bad fuel pumps. Do you think I need to clean the RAVE valves?

Thx for all the info.....

think the fuel pupm is external, hiding inside the twist ofthe pipe, if not, then its on the carb (mag). Definetly clean the raves.
