Im rebuilding the Top end on my 951 and my question is the orings that go on the cylinder studs, are they supposed to be put in the block before putting the cylinder on, or do I slide them onto the studs when Im installing the studs after putting the cylinder back on? When I pulled it apart they came out with the studs, and each Oring was at a different position on the stud. Also, should they be lubed up with anything before installing or should they be dry?

Put them on the stud, before the gasket, and the head. I always lube any O-ring to make sure it seats properly.

So as long as the Oring is anywhere on the stud its ok? I ask because the O-ring will slide up when you put the studs in..Any preferred lube? grease?

I use either grease, or 2-stroke oil because that's what I have sitting on the workbench. If you put O-rings on dry, they can twist, and not seal. If you put some kind of lube on them... they will self center.
