Ive noticed on earlier models the bilge switch has On/Off/Battery(auto) but my 2001 twin 717 only has On/Off. I had replaced the bilge pump and scrubbed the backet & bilge then noticed a sensor on its bracket and wanted to test the sensor by doing a controlled filling of the bilge with a hose & watching over everything carefully with the bilge off and the battery on and nothing! With or without key too. I think i tested the sensor plug also and it checked out. Let me know if you have some cool info/answers!

Hmm... to narrow it down I would put 12v directly to the pump to rule out a brand new bad pump. Then go from there.

The older ones only have on and off so they either send power to the bilge pump or they don't.
If you bought a new pump that has a sensor or float then follow the instructions and wire it so when you give it power it is switched on/off by it's own float. You will just leave your switch in the ON position and it will activate when the pumps float senses water.
