Does anyone know if this nut goes on top or bottom??

So when I took the boat out after the audio install i found that the gauge cluster had a bad vibration... i looked inside and saw that this nut/bolt was really loose.. i tried tightening as best i could but it still seemed like it was vibrating a bit.. i have the boat going into teh dealer for th 10hr service but figured id just check on here if you guys know if the nut is supposed to be on top or bottom... maybe they messed it up by accident.. thanks

It looks like you have it on backward. The close up is really too close to be sure.

Usually, when you have a nut that has the built in washer, as you see the flare of it, this is usually the part that will rest against what it is your trying to tighten it to.

For gage clusters, I would also think you have a small piece of rubber or something to cushion the vibs........:cheers:
