I was on the web messing around on youtube looking at sea-doo videos
when I came across one that a person had a 08 rxt where he did his
own through hole exhaust. He remove the muffler and replaced it with a "L"
shaped pipe and went out the original exhaust hole, not making a new hole.
I would like to hear what people think . It sounded real good .

Thats the resonator that was removed.

I had an 04 RXP where the previous owner had removed the resonator and installed a straight pipe with the factory outlet in the pump tunnel. The drone at 3000 to 3500 rpm would rattle your back teeth loose above that the drone was gone. I ended up getting a RIVA rear exhaust just to get rid of the drone.

If you spend a lot of time in the lower rpm range I would not recommend it. If you try it keep the resonator you might want to re install it.

was there any gain , power ,acceleration . etc??

I purchased it with the resonator already removed so I did not have a back to back comparison.

What machine are you doing this on the 03 GTX ?

A 4" intake system will give you more performance gains than removing the resonator.

I am in the process of installing an external intercooler and 4" intake on my 185hp 05 GTX. Stock it runs around 60mph on GPS after the mods I'm hoping for 65 to 66mph. I was thinking of trading for a 215hp RXT, I know the history on mine so I figured I'll try these mods and see what they do.

I picked up a 07 rxt 215hp. So more hp can be gained by changing the air intake. There is not much difference between my gtx and rxt. almost identical but the rxt seating is higher and the larger supercharger gives you more acceleration. But im around the same 60 on the gtx and high 60's on the rxt( with my 16 yr old) on it

This is what I would do to the RXT:

- 4" air intake.
- X Charger or install an Engine Tech 127 wheel in your 215 charger.
- 42lb injectors.
- Prop repitch.

Engine Tech wheel is cheaper than an X charger and puts out the same if not slightly more boost. A lot of guys like the ET wheel as it's lighter than the X which gives it better throttle response.

I did that to the RXP I had and it was a great bang for the buck, midrange acceleration was strong and it GPS'd at 74mph. I ran this set up for over 60hrs with no problems before I sold it.
