Discontinued part help

I have my challenger at the shop, we ordered parts only to find out that one of them is discontinued. It is part number 204120003. It is called "ring" it goes between the shoe ans the neoprene ring on the pump housing. Anyone have any ideas or fixes they know of. The seadoo Place was going to replace it for good measure, but since they cannot get it they are talking about using a copper sealant. Anyone know about this "ring" and what's a good next step from here with this discontinued part.

why replace it. is it damaged? If not then the neoprene seal will insure good pump seal to shoe. This part should have no wear on it.

what they did, was use the "lip" from the wear ring, protruding from pump, to seal the pump to plate. Isnt bad idea to have the neoprene seal though/good measure.

Timmyboy, I know from looking at the pump that lip that sticks out just hair. I have the neoprene seal and they are going to pit that on aswell. But what is the ring that goes between the pump shoe and the neoprene seal. I cannot find a picture or a description of exactly what it is what it's made of. It's purpose nothing. Just that it's discontinued and it's name is ring. The mechanic said the other is on there but could use replacing. Since the part is discontinued he's going to use some copper sealant if necessary. I guess long story short I guess I am just hoping somebody can tell me what that ring is for made of and what not. In case I every do for some reason have to replace it I can make something similar.

I have an alum ring between the ride shoe and the wear ring on my 97 chal. Basicaly seems to be used as a spacer.

Can't you just look at it and tell us what it's made of? Why does it need replacing? Is it corroded? How thick is it? If it's a spacer, copper sealant won't help. Post a picture of it.
