No only the new one the old owner lost the last one ( I thing it was lost intentionally so there could not be a start test)

ok, were you there when they programmed the key?..Did the programmer say how many hours were on the boat?..DID it connect to the MPEM?

So i'm correct to assume..???
you never heard the boat run?
Had no key when you bought it?
You took it to dealer to get key or what?

I was there they used the laptop style programer.I did not ask for hours and he did not tell me. It was a long cord that was put on the dess port it took 4 min or so to do then he put the vin in the computer it beeped a lot and I made the comment that it sounds like it's going to blow but he told me all beeps where good and that it was all programed and ready to go

I did try playing with that but did not now how important that was is there a way to by pass to Check it?

Yes ,yes ,yes I got this as a project and i just starting out. I have never had it running. Guy I got it from to led me he had it running last year but did not have time to use it this year.

Its not the neutral switch. The other engine starts. Im strongly leaning toward the MPEM is smoked.
The long beep is saying overheat or not connecting to the MPEM. Its obviously not overheating. It was either jump-started and smoked it or they do just give out at that age.
Its identical to how mine was when i got it.One ran, other didnt=MPEM
Have you checked all fuses located in the MPEM?

I want to be clear no engine work
There is no beep long beep until press the start button left or right.
I have not check the fuses I will go this

Neutral sounds like it could be it what kind of switch is under there?

One long beep is assosiated with the neutral safety switch being closed, and attempting to start. Another is an unexpected Mpem reset, or a failed start attempt, but you are not that far yet. Try shifting the lever forward, attempt to start, then shift back to neutral. You should get one long be upon pressing the start button, then four short beeps when the shifter returns to neutral.

You can bypass the switch safety by unplugging it. Remove the shifter and disconnect the switch. After the engines start, you will have to reconnect the switch to disable the rev-limiter.

p.s. You are in the right place, welcome to the forum. Phildoo is just trying to assemble all the facts so we can get a good baseline to help you from. :)

ok, im going by your typo's..
So NEITHER engines start???
If so, start by checking all fuses, might be neutral switch, but its controlled by the MPEM
But first!!>>You have a good and fully charged battery?

Thanks
I will try to see what beeps I get am I pressing the start button as I move the shifter or do I do one at a time.?

1.Shifter FWD or REV
2.Press start button
3.listen for one long annoying beep
4.Shift to neutral
5.listen for four short beeps

I noticed you asked what kind of switch it is. In short, it is a normally open (neutral) on/off switch to ground. You can test it with an ohm meter.

Ernest

p.s. if it beeps four times, it should start afterwards.

Pull plugs out and remove grey cover on the driveshaft and see if you can turn it by hand before pulling head first.
