DESS Problem

I posted this question while back.
2008 RXT wont start at times when you install the DESS key on the post it will either beep twice and start or one long beep and not crank when it does start it runs fine and may not act up for a while. if you take the key on and off the post eventually it will start. I have cleaned the post many times.
it only has 26 hours, battery is new. does it with the valet key or the regular key.

Bad DESS post will do that. I replaced it easily on my 2003 but I am not sure how complicated it is on a 2007. You don't need new keys, just the post.

Look for the solenoid, you should see one main wire coming off going to the starter, then on the opposite post in a terminal link coming out going to the fuse box. There should also be two smaller wires on that same terminal coming out of that link. Those wires in that link will corrode and cause your problem. To fix this, take two more wires about the same size and put a terminal on the end that will fit the solenoid, then tap it into those two wires. hook everything up and it will all work.
