So, I know this has been hashed out and I have read all the posts on this topic before posting here. Bear with me...it's kind of unique. Symptoms:. Was at the lake yesterday and ski was working great for several hours. Had lots of friends taking the ski out all day long. Burned through almost full tank of gas before trouble started and it started slowly. At first riders reported to me they had to jiggle the DESS key to get the required two beeps. Later in the day it got worse to the point I had to take my runabout out to rescue my son ...it just would not start. No beeps when DESS key was inserted. Dash would light but no beeps. Had the other son tow the first son back to shore. I have two identicle 2007 GTX 155 Wake SC. Both have been reprogrammed to accept same DESs keys. Tried swapping keys. Problem stays with the ski, not the key.

Today, in the driveway. Tried hitting start button 5 times to go into trouble shooting mode. No beeps. Then inserted DESs key and got one long beep followed by series of three short beeps, followed by three short beeps, over and over.

Cleaned DESS key with soap and water. Cleaned post with soap and water. No bueno.

Decided based on symptoms and what I read online must have a bad post. Read some more in how to disable steering cover...saw a thread from 2006 that challenged a race to see how long it takes so I timed myself. 38 minutes.

Grabbed my multimeter to begin troubleshooting the red yellow wire to start button but now everything works. Every time I plugging the DESS key in it beeps two times.

How do I troubleshooting it while it's working? See...I told you it would be unique. It's 930 am and I started drinking beers already. The stress these things create in my life drives me to drunk irresponsibly.

It's 97 degrees. 4th of July. I should be on the lake today.
