i have a 97 xp 787. i am trying to sell it. it was running perfect, i tried starting it up today and when i installed the tether no beeps, no signal, ski won't turn over....battery is at 12.45 volts, seems like my post is bad to me, here's my questions:

after cleaning the post in warm soapy water, is there a diagnostic check i can perform with my ohmmeter?? i've tried searching but can't find the procedure anywhere

also, i have a 99 gtx i am rebuilding with a 951. can i swipe the post off this to see if it actually my post on the xp thats messed up?? if so, do i use the key off the 951 (key stays with post i assume??)..will this mess anything up with my programming??

ok, i did more searching, if i'm right i CAN use the post off of the GTX..as its only a communicator to the mpem, and i must use my tether off the xp...right??

yeah, time and time again i tell myself...check all fuses first, but i don't...lol..

it was the first 15A in the coil pack that was blown...so after i changed posts and nothing worked i checked it, as mentioned blown, put a new one in, connect tether, blow fuse..repeat..repeat again, untill i notice some smoke coming from the rear VTS !!!

Guess its true the VTS can really mess things up...anyway, disconnected the VTS and all is good now, will look at the VTS next week..maybe...
