hey guys, now ive heard of people eliminating the water box exhaust can, and i hear it makes it sound very tough, i want to know if this can be done with out damaging the ski in any way, it seems that the can is there to not allow water in the exhaust while the ski is off in the water... please some one lmk asap thanks in advice

I thought it was the resonator people removed? Found on the 99+?

It helps make it quieter, but adds a whopping 2-3 lbs.

I don't know if you can remove the can...

i want the ski to be louder in the water, and my ski is a 97 i dont think i have a resognator, but i think removing that would make it louder and make it lighter, removing it on a car makes the car louder... lol

if you remove the waterbox, please stay on your coast of florida, I don't wanna hear that chit on my coast.

Thank goodness im in Canada! But to answer the question.. I do not beleive the waterbox can be removed because it must give back a certain amount of back pressure and when you cut the throttle and your wake catches up to you, i think the waterbox keeps that surge of water from going up into the tuned pipe and hydrolocking the engine.

There are more reasons not to remove the wb. You don't want to blow hot exhaust straight into that long rubber hose because it will melt it. You also do not want to add to people hating PWCs and their riders. You can look for an aftermarket one or cut it open, remove half the baffles, then weld it up and pressure test it. A lot of folks have done that to improve flow and tone. Removing the box offers no performance increase. It just makes you offensively loud and puts reliability at risk.

i know it wont increase horse power, i want more sound out of it, lol, ive heard it done before and their not that loud, some are obnoxious, but ive heard some that sound awesome and its not to offensive to the ears.. idk ill probably try hollowing out the box then how matt said... thanks
